1935 Chevy

P1013510.JPG

This 1935 Chevrolet fire truck was manufactured by Anthony Cresci & Sons of Vineland, NJ. Cresci primarily made lift trucks for coal, dump trucks, and trash trucks. They were in business from 1909 - 1975. Dave Farley and I drove from Venice, FL to Greenfield, MA to pick it up. We made it up in two days and the same back, getting out of New England as another storm arrived. The truck arrived at my house at 11pm on Super Bowl night, 2011. It has 9,000 miles on it. It runs great. According to Millville, NJ Fire Chief Kurt Hess, the truck used in Millville then sold to Heislerville Vol. Fire Co. around 1950. It was then sold to Laurel Lake (around 1960) then sold to Buena Vista Campground around 1983. IN THIS PHOTO THE TRUCK BASKS IN THE FLORIDA SUN FOR THE FIRST TIME.

The straight six engine works great. Here in single-digit temps- my first experience with snow since 1985....
