MAY 12 VS JUNE 3 (BEFORE/AFTER)
In the above photo (May 22), there is no red paint left. All that remains is the factory primer in some places. I wish I could communicate with some of the employees at Peter Pirsch & Sons (closed in 1991). There was one coat of paint on the truck (enamel) and I must say it was well painted. The paint was well faded, prompting my decision for the full restoration. As of this picture, the front half of the truck had been sanded once and then had an application of paint remover. At this time I have removed the interior door skins and am removing the paint from those parts as well as the hose bed dividers. The photo below was taken on May 30, 2006.

As you will see on subsequent pages, the diamond plate areas are now painted metallic silver. The roof is white. The body is 1970 GM flame red.
